Donald Trump appears to have pushed for the Republicans to adopt a pro-Moscow policy over Ukraine just as his senior aides were meeting with Russia\u2019s US Ambassador.<\/p>\n

At the Republican National Convention [July 18-21, 2016] the party agreed to insert language into its platform that opposed arming or providing Ukraine with weapons to take on pro-Russian rebels.<\/p>\n

JD Gordon, a former adviser to Mr Trump, has revealed that the push to change the platform came after the direct intervention of the New York tycoon.<\/p>\n
